Problem Observed
Oral health issues often go undetected in early stages because symptoms appear gradually and are easy to ignore. Many people delay seeking medical advice due to lack of awareness or access to early screening tools.
Project Idea
OralAI is a conceptual AI-based tool designed to support early identification of oral health concerns using observable indicators and structured data inputs. The goal was not diagnosis, but early awareness that could encourage timely medical consultation.
Approach
- Studied basic oral health indicators and common early symptoms
- Explored how pattern recognition and classification models can be applied to medical data
- Designed a logical flow that organizes symptoms into structured inputs rather than isolated signs
- Considered ethical aspects such as data sensitivity, accuracy, and responsible use of AI in healthcare
What I Learned
- How AI models rely heavily on quality and structure of input data
- The importance of separating awareness tools from diagnostic claims
- The role of ethics when working with healthcare-related technology
How technology can support better decision-making without replacing professionals
